)I know this is a bio, but it is really not about me. Yoga is something you have to experience for yourself. Yes, I have
words that describe the actions, the techniques the intended outcomes. But every advance, every discovery, every bit of
healing, contentment and empowerment that yoga can help us to find, must come from within yourself (it is already
there). I feel it is my duty to teach my students, not to lead them. You are your own leader. I am empathetic, optimistic,
fanatic about anatomy and philosophy and a bit of a smart a….leck. In the grand scheme of things I know very little, that
is to say I am always learning, but I have absolute rock solid belief in yoga, specifically Anusara yoga, and in each
individual’s potential to experience whatever it is you seek. There is no one right way to do things.
About me anyway, I have been practicing yoga for seven years and teaching for five. I am blessed beyond words that I
found yoga when and where I did. My initial training was done with At One Yoga in Phoenix/Scottsdale from 2000-2002
when it housed amazing teachers, including master Anusara teachers. I am now a Yoga Alliance ERYT, which means I
have taught over 1000 hours, and an “Anusara-Inspired” teacher, which means I’ve got the goods. My education
continues constantly, through yoga and in all my experiences. In class I practice many different approaches, from
restorative to power flow, but always with a solid foundation in optimal physical alignment. Time for meditation is always
provided, because simply it is the one thing that you can do right now (go do it!) to improve your experience. By the way,
quieting the mind is a practice like anything else, the more you do it, the easier it gets. It is about lining up actions with
intentions.
I have: two little kiddos, a girl and a boy, a great husband (Keith), a found dog named Woody who is no coincidence and
two cats Bobo-Alexander and Hunter. If you want it I can provide you with a laundry list of amazing influences, some famous some obscure, but please never doubt that the truest
guidance is already within you. I tend to be a bit, uhm, verbose at times, due to my “glorious enthusiasm” to quote a
student, but I will leave you with one more thought because it is the single most important thing I can ever share. The
only lack in your life that you ever need to address is the lack of awareness that you are already complete and perfect.
Come play with me.
